Real

As I sit here, I was reminded of someone’s words yesterday. My gift is not for my benefit. It’s for others. It’s for His glory. These past few weeks have been anything but stellar. I’m realizing I still need help, whether I want it or not. This has been one of the hardest things to accept. When the world preaches independence, I let myself fall into the trap. I’m not normal. Never will be. This hurts my pride like no other, but in order to grow…. The pride got kicked to the curb in embarrassing fashion, and help is a necessity. Whether my writing still is the gift God intended, I can only hope. If you will humble me with your prayer, I’d be grateful.

Return

Near Eske, East Yorkshire last Friday afternoon

It is Monday evening and I am about to head back to East Yorkshire. Simon finally saw  the consultant this morning and now has to spend a few days in a hospital bed - beginning tomorrow morning. He will be fed through a tube. I think the idea is build up his strength a little before he undergoes a second endoscopic investigation. I am not sure if, during his long-awaited consultation, there was any reference to the earlier plan - to remove one of his kidneys because of a tumour discovered there.

In England, visitors have to pay to leave a vehicle in a hospital car park so that's partly why I will be taking Simon to hospital tomorrow. This afternoon, he was heading to the coastal town of Hornsea to purchase some pyjamas before his hospital stay. Tonight, I will be sleeping in "The New Inn" once again. It's a hundred yards down the street from Simon's little cottage.

At last, something is happening!

Heartstopper

A friend’s daughter told me I should be watching Heartstopper on Netflix.
“ You’ll love it” she told me
I looked it up.
Based on a graphic novels by Alice Oseman, it is a coming of age tv series about the lives to two teen age boys Nick and Charlie and it has a wholesome, innocent but very modern look on teenage first love.
I joined Netflix in order to watch it and I must admit it is incredibly sweet , and angst and all consuming the way love always is when you are fifteen.
Oh how I wish we had Heartstopper when I was a boy.

I’ve had a paperwork morning. I’ve sorted out travel insurance, logs, vets appointments, urology appointments , banking, theatre tickets and my counselling course, and now I’m just organising some batch cooing.
My new food bible is Slimming Eats by Siogban Wightman who is a blogger favourite of mine.
I’ve decided to get my eating under control by always cooking something flavoursome and in quantities that can be frozen as well as eaten. Therefore anything I’m tempted to eat in the house will always be homemade, slimming, tasty and easy to get hold of.
Tonight it’s lamp balti curry with cauliflower special rice.

Old Trefor is ok today btw.
Little Bathroom man has just messaged , he hopes to start work next week.
