DAILY SKETCH - SO THIS IS THE STORY

(By the way I should say part is fiction and most is nonfiction - there were no balloons or kids involved whatsoever in the story i made up).

Of a man I know, a man who is very kind and helpful and fun to be around.  I will call him Mr. Carl.  Mr. Carl has been a little under the weather and this all began a few months back.  As it turned out - I won't go into detail (right now anyway), he was in the hospital, then transferred to a prison ...well a transitional care unit which felt like a prison to him.

He recently was released and just in the last few days has been able to visit his favorite places, one of them the shoreline which he has always loved and which is a very meditative place for him.

His wife surprised him yesterday with balloons and took him to the beach where he was just so happy to be able to get out and enjoy the sea air, even though it was a bit chilly and damp.  After lying in a hospital bed for several weeks he felt on top of the world and even felt like he had grown a foot - and that his head could touch the clouds, especially after lying in a very short and extremely uncomfortable hospital bed.

Anyway - while there he met two children.  He really wanted to be alone but felt he should at least talk with them a bit.  The girl asked if she could have a balloon for her little sister and so
Mr. Carl begrudgingly gave her a balloon.  He kind of felt bad because he gave away the balloon that had lost air.

He still isn't quite feeling like his ole self because usually he is so generous but yesterday he just didn't feel like sharing and that is probably due to the fact that he felt his life wasn't even his own after having been bossed around by nurses, doctors and his loving wife for the last two months.

Welcome back Mr. Carl to your beautiful world.  Life I'm sure will get back to normal soon.

NO SKETCH YET - BUT THERE WILL BE - JUST SHARING PHOTOS OF BEANIE

Beanie was so excited to hear that for the third day we are staying in.  She seems so dejected when we head out every day - whether we are going down the hill to shop or just over to Lake Arrowhead for Stater Brothers - or a walk at the local lake.

After the snow if the roads are icy we are stuck inside for a few days.  I saw her looking so sad and told her we aren't going out today.  She perked up and didn't know what to think.  She asked me if she really heard that right - that we will be home again today.

When I told her yes she said - okay then, yippee - can you bring my mouse out for me to play with.

I told her I already had and to look behind her.

Wow she said - both a mouse AND a squirrel outside on the railing - this day is going to be fun!

So she went over to watch the squirrel outside the window.

and her mouse came to cuddle up with her.

Yes, It's a good day in Beanie's world.
