Albums

Between 1969 and 1972, when music was ridiculously important to me, it was entire albums that I craved. In truth, singles really only touched me in a peripheral manner. If you were serious about music it was the LP's that really grabbed you.

Recently, I shared some of my favourite singles from 1971 and 1972 but tonight it's the turn of the albums, three for each year:-

1971...

"Blue" - Joni Mitchell:-

"Every Good Boy Deserves Favour" - The Moody Blues:-

"Tapestry" - Carole King:-

1972...

"Harvest" - Neil Young:-

"Jackson Browne (Saturate Before Using)" - Jackson Browne:-

"Eagles" -  Eagles:-

In the previous "Albums" post I published for the years 1969 and 1970, I suggested a track from each of my favourites to make up a compilation album and so here we go again:-

"The Last Time I Saw Richard" - Joni Mitchell

"One More Time To Live" - The Moody Blues

"Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" - Carole King

"Heart of Gold" - Neil Young

"Song for Adam" - Jackson Browne

"Take It Easy" - The Eagles

And like last time, just before you go, here's just one of those songs to listen to. It's "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" recorded by Carole King at the BBC in London - back in 1971. New York City born Carole  is now eighty years old and lives out west in the state of Idaho:-

Tell me please

Thank you for all your love. It’s taking all I have not to explode.  I don’t want to divulge yet. And I don’t want to act like a grinch, but my soul is taking hits. Please pray for me. Tell me your good news. I need to rejoice in goodness.

Leo

My favourite photo of Leo , watching ducklings

Administering antibiotics to one of the ghost hens

I’ve arranged to meet my nephew at St Pancreas around 2pm but my train connection from Crewe has been cancelled.
At least they texted and emailed me the news.
I’ve caught the earlier train just to make sure.
Trendy Carol’s husband Ewan agreed to sort the dogs out.
What a star.

No comic con today, we are keeping it simple.
Check in to hotel, early dinner at Dishoom in Covent Garden and Six the musical down on the Strand .
I haven’t seen him for a year so we have lots of films to mutually review and news to catch up on.

Leo isn’t my blood nephew, but I’ve known him since he was a baby
Over 20 years now
Man and boy…..
I wonder how long he will keep in touch as we lead very different lives on opposite ends of the country
Who knows
