SO - .................

After my mom died in 1985 (very sad for daughter(s) ...my sis and I who were only in our middle 30's, to lose a mom), my dad came to live with me and my family.  Not only did he write his own biography, pen a short story from what he felt was contact from the  spirit world meaning my mother and his dad who he felt had contacted him, he and I had quite a correspondence once he moved back to Tombstone, Arizona where he lived.  He did stay with us for several months and then moved back to start life on his own.

So between my sister and I mailing letters to him all the time (sometimes I would send off four to five a week) he would write back and many times enclose jokes and sketches he would do of family life.  (I am a hoarder of sentimental things so I still have every one of his letters he ever sent 34 years later.)

Since I have no new sketches right now I thought I would post some of his once in awhile.

My sister was very busy with a court reporting job and seemed to never have time for much else.  I, on the other hand, was so much more busy than her ...(or equally busy as her)  with four kids and a work at home job doing medical transcription.  I swear she and I would talk and debate over whose life was the most hectic ..or did I just imagine those talks to make up this story.  But what was true is my stay at home job and her job where she had to commute all over in Los Angeles traffic to go to her various assignments.  Then she would have to come home and put those notes on to paper which would usually take every evening after work to complete these tasks.

So this is one of those sketches that came in the mail from my dad.

This was me (although I looked much more smooth and young in those days than his sketch of me, lol) and one of my kids is letting me know their grandpa is on the phone.  I can't remember any of my boys wearing such a short shirt , hahaha.  and my bedroom was not near this uncluttered.
