Stolen

Are bloggers allowed to purloin content from other bloggers? At the risk of inviting legal action, I have pinched this video from Thelma, the author of "North Stoke". It was filmed nine years  ago in Keane's Bar in Listowel, County Kerry over in The Republic of Ireland.

Apart from anything else, the video authentically captures the friendly mood one can still experience in small Irish pubs where live music is appreciated.

Over here in The British Isles in the last two decades, two discount German supermarkets have successfully invaded the space once occupied by our "big four" supermarkets - Tesco, Sainsburys, ASDA and Morrisons.

Those stores are Lidl and Aldi and they have spread like a coronavirus - offering quality foodstuffs and other goods at discount prices.  I myself tend to visit our local Lidl store twice a week, enjoying huge savings in the course of a year.

Lidl has become famous for its middle aisle where you never know what goods may be displayed - from wet suits to angle grinders. A few months ago there was a wave of products by "BOSH!" - you may have heard of this London-based vegan company!

The self-penned song is performed by Mick MacConnell and when I heard it today I laughed rather heartily. If you get it, I hope you laugh too! I know for sure  that it will tickle Dave Northsider in County Cork.
