While watching Handmaid's tale, I let my pen wander about on paper and after the sketch, I painted it in.
Our small town doesn't celebrate the 4th of July until tomorrow and then it's a three day celebration - Jamboree Days, Parade, firework, music, wine walks, lake activities, etc...Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will definitely stay close to home or slip out the back roads and get away from the crowds. Our town is old but going through a lot of renovation and rehabbing to become a destination place people want to come to on holidays, ...(I didn't sign up for this when I moved here six years ago, lol).
What's happening today in your world - or is the happening going on over the weekend - for those of you in the US.
I just realized other than going to a parade in Kansas City over the holidays as a kid I have never chosen to go to another parade unless one of my kids were in it. The memory, as I'm writing this, came to me that when I was 19 I went to the Rose Parade in Pasadena where I was awake all night because we wanted to get a good spot so we arrived many hours early.... only to come down with symptoms of strep throat noticeable just about the time the parade was starting in the morning. All I could think of was getting home to my bed. Maybe that memory deep within has kept me from wanting to attend parades. I don't even like to watch them on TV.
Anyway happy 4th to all you citizens, legal or so-called illegal that are celebrating today.
