What is the most northerly place in the forty eight contiguous United States? It's a village called Angle Point in the state of Minnesota. You can't even reach it by road from America but you can get there from Canada..

Below you can see the location of Angle Point and the North West Angle district. It came into being because of a mapping error connected with The Treaty of Paris in 1783. Amongst other things, that conference sought to clarify the US-Canada border after The American War of Independence. As you can imagine, in those days some of the existing maps of remote areas were erroneous.
I would love to visit Angle Point but I don't suppose I ever will. Although it's not quite the same , "Drifter Dave" has done the job for us.
