That's our Ian on the right and his BOSH! partner Henry on the left. I rather like that picture. It appeared in the online version of "The Independent" just this week. It was in relation to the launch of their seventh book: "BOSH! On A Budget".
Last weekend there was a three page spread about their new book in the "Food and Drink" section of "The Daily Telegraph". They also appeared in a BBC 1 morning magazine show called "Morning Live" and in a few days time they will be back on a Channel 4 daytime show called "Steph's Packed Lunch".
Apart from all of this, one of the things that makes me especially proud about their vegan journey so far is that they have sold over a million vegan cookbooks worldwide. It is quite phenomenal. Just before Christmas a former teaching colleague told me that a good friend of his had seen "BOSH!" books for sale in a Moscow bookshop - translated into Russian. I wonder if Vladimir Putin has tried out a few of their vegan recipes? Possibly he only eats raw meat - like a lion.
I sometimes liken the BOSH! story success to surfing a wave. As long as they keep upright and avoid falling off they will make it to the beach. The vegan scene has changed a lot since they set out. More and more people are happy to embrace vegan cuisine and there are more vegan products in supermarkets. It would be so easy to get left behind but so far they are keeping up with the incoming tide.
