And the areas near the lake had fields of lupine. That alone made the trip worthwhile. Seeing my photos inspired me to do a nature journal sketch today.
A lot of fathers evidently had a good time in the mountains. We drove around and finally decided on a walk at our local lake instead of the other lakes we go to as our lake is the only one that doesn't allow motorized boats ....so it is less of a tourist destination. The other lakes were filled with dads and their families enjoying boating on the lake.
